Read the set of related affirmations in this post aloud. It’s important to your conscious and subconscious mind to hear the affirmations said in your own voice. Affirmations are powerful, positive sentences that can change your mindset. Don’t focus on challenges and lack, but on healthy self-esteem and unshakeable self-confidence. You can leverage the power of affirmations in your life by beginning an affirmation practice – using one or two favorite affirmations over the course of 30 to 60 days to permanently change your mindset and by extension, your life.

It is important to show my true, authentic colors to my family, friends, and peers. Authenticity gains more respect than pretense. People know how to respond when they take the time to understand me.
My friends and I have different tastes in entertainment. I am upfront about declining the offer when I am invited to a function I have little interest in.
My authentic self shines through every interaction I have with others
I let my friends know my opinion on their actions and behaviors when they ask me or when I see an opportunity to save them a challenge, stress, or injury. Although my friends prefer when I agree, we can disagree without conflict.
Sometimes my peers notice that I dress differently or go to different places than they do. But there is a level of respect that comes from living within my means. I am honest about what I can afford. It is tempting to buy an expensive pair of shoes to keep up with my peers. But I avoid that temptation because I have plans for my future that don’t include over-extending myself financially.
I avoid letting opportunities at work drive me to compromise my beliefs and values. I refrain from changing my views on a policy so I can get a promotion. My authentic approach shows my employer that my commitment to the organization runs deep and that I’m here for the long haul.
I know that honesty makes for a better outcome than dishonesty.
I feel good when I am true to myself and I show that authentic self to others. I commit to maintaining that approach in life. I am happy when others appreciate and respect my honesty.
