Affirmations to Encourage Personal Growth

Read the set of related affirmations in this post aloud. It’s important to your conscious and subconscious mind to hear the affirmations said in your own voice. Choose one or two of the affirmations from the set to start working with. You only need one or two affirmations, used consistently, to make a substantial change in your life.

Affirmations are most effective when said aloud. Studies have proven that it’s impossible to think a negative thought and make a positive statement aloud at the same time. Use this principle to halt negative thoughts in their tracks and turn them around.

Say your chosen affirmation loud enough for your mind to hear your voice saying the words and take notice of how you feel as you begin and as you continue your practice. Feeling better? Repeat your chosen affirmation at least twice a day – morning, and night – for at least 30 days, and reinforce your affirmation by writing it in your journal.

Affirmations are powerful, positive sentences that can change your mindset. Don’t focus on challenges and lack, but on healthy self-esteem and unshakeable self-confidence. You can leverage the power of affirmations in your life by beginning an affirmation practice – using one or two favorite affirmations over the course of 30 to 60 days to permanently change your mindset and by extension, your life.

Positive affirmations are statements you create and repeat in order to alter your conscious and subconscious mind, break negative behavior patterns, and improve your life. You can put them to work in many areas of your life – the ones in this post focus on Personal Growth.

You can focus your will and your efforts on many areas of personal growth, but it’s best to choose one area and focus on it for 30 – 60 days, especially if you’re a newbie to using positive affirmations consistently. You are working to change your mindset and your self-talk, and that takes time.

When you read the group of affirmations aloud, certain ones will resonate more strongly with you. That means there’s something in the affirmation that you should pay particular attention to. They might touch on a sore spot with you, remind you of a goal you set previously, or tap on a dream you once chased. When you feel the reaction, give yourself the gift of time to explore that reaction. This doesn’t have to take hours, just minutes. Determine why you reacted the way that you did, and you may just have found the affirmation you need to focus on for the next few weeks.

Pay attention to your reactions – the unconscious ones are clues to what you need to pay attention to. Start slowly, reading through the affirmations, and then choose one or two (at most) to start working with. You can record them onto your smartphone and play them for you to hear multiple times a day, create a lock screen on your phone or computer to see them displayed in front of you, or choose another method of keeping them at the forefront of your mind.

Affirmations to Encourage Personal Growth

I might be a work in progress, but I am growing.

My path is paved with strength and I will keep an open mind and heart.

I will keep what serves me and let go of what fails me.

A roadblock is simply a shortcut to something greater.

I will do something to stretch myself today.

I am preparing myself for bigger and better things and struggle is part of that.

I will not settle because there is more within me.

My purpose will light my path today and I will live with purpose.

Today I am a seed, but I am growing into a powerful tree.

I will strive for better every day I wake up.

I will let go of unhealthy habits, create positive habits, and blaze new trails.

With every thought, I think and every action I take I build a better life.

I let go of previous versions of myself to embrace the growth I will find today.

What was my limit yesterday, today becomes my starting point.

I may struggle, but I still grow. I may fall, but I always get up. I succeed despite adversity.

I will reach for something better.

I am attracting the people, situations, things, and peace that contribute to my growth.

Everything that has happened in my life so far has prepared me to face this day.

I experience positive moment after positive moment and a challenge is simply an opportunity to grow.

What really matters to me is who I am not who I used to be.
