Affirmations – The Power to Change Negative Behaviors

Read the set of related affirmations in this post aloud. It’s important to your conscious and subconscious mind to hear the affirmations said in your own voice. Choose one or two of the affirmations from the set to start working with. You only need one or two affirmations, used consistently, to make a substantial change in your life.

Affirmations are most effective when said aloud. Studies have proven that it’s impossible to think a negative thought and make a positive statement aloud at the same time. Use this principle to halt negative thoughts in their tracks and turn them around.

Say your chosen affirmation loud enough for your mind to hear your voice saying the words and take notice of how you feel as you begin and as you continue your practice. Feeling better? Repeat your chosen affirmation at least twice a day – morning, and night – for at least 30 days, and reinforce your affirmation by writing it in your journal.

Affirmations are powerful, positive sentences that can change your mindset. Don’t focus on challenges and lack, but on healthy self-esteem and unshakeable self-confidence. You can leverage the power of affirmations in your life by beginning an affirmation practice – using one or two favorite affirmations over the course of 30 to 60 days to permanently change your mindset and by extension, your life.

Changing negative behavior can be part of your Affirmation practice. There’s no guarantee that the change will happen immediately but following a consistent affirmation practice over 30 to 60 days will set you on a path toward permanently and positively changing your behavior.

The affirmations listed below – 20 in total – will form the foundation for an affirmation practice that helps you to change negative behavior around. Don’t try to implement all these affirmations at once – read them completely, and see which ones resonate with you immediately.

The ones that resonate immediately can be written in your journal for future reference and use, and the others can be noted. What about the ones that resonate with you make them most attractive? Is it the language used, the concept, or how the affirmation slips right off your tongue with little to no effort?

An affirmation that encourages a thought of “I already do that” or “I’ve already achieved that” will be less effective in empowering you to change than an affirmation that encourages a thought of “I wish I could do that now” or “I need to work up to that.”

Remember to state the affirmation out loud, with certainty and power in your voice. At first, this might seem difficult or even ridiculous, but the act of using your voice to state the affirmation out loud helps to embed it into your conscious and subconscious mind. It increases the feeling of authenticity when you use the affirmation to describe qualities that you want in your life.

Implementing affirmations as a source of inspiration and motivation to create positive change in your life isn’t complicated, but as you’ve read here before, they do require consistent effort.
